Ichalkaranji situated on the banks of "Panchganga" river is also well-known as "Manchester of India" being the prime & leading in textile business centre of India. There are about 115 Terapanthi families, most of whom belongs to Rajasthan, are living here and most of indulged in textile business. The "Jain Shwetambar Terapanth Sabha" has built its own "Terapanth Sabha Bhawan" in the year 1998. Ichalkaranji being the gateway between Maharashtra & Karnataka, is fortunate to have holy stays of Terapanthin"Sadhu-Sadhvis". Ichalkaranji has been blessed by H.H. Acharya Shri Mahaprajna with Chaturmas in 1998 & 2005. These Chaturmas of Muni Shri Ravindrakumarji in 1998 & Muni Shri Jineshkumarji in 2005 were remarkable in every aspect. All the Terapanthi institutions/organisations of Ichalkaranji holds remarkable presence. Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, Mahila Mandal, Terapanth Sabha, Kishor Mandal, Kanya Mandal & Gyanshala are being run in a very effective manner and they have been awarded for their activities from time to time by the respective Central Bodies.
